Alcohol / Spirits is prohibited for travelers entering Iran. Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) screens baggage at all ports of entry; the item is seized regardless of quantity, and depending on item class (narcotic / weapon / counterfeit / cultural-heritage), the traveler may face administrative or criminal penalty under the destination's controlled-substances / customs act. GCC Common Customs Law applies for GCC member states; national restrictions on alcohol / pork / political-religious content are strictly enforced. Personal-import permit pathways exist for medication categories (see Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) guidance) but do not apply to most prohibited items.

Leaving Iran with alcohol / spirits
Alcohol is prohibited in Iran — possession and transport are criminal offences, so there is no lawful personal export. Duty-free alcohol purchased airside for a destination where it is legal is handled by airport retailers under their own bonded arrangements; travellers should not carry alcohol into or through landside areas. Attempting to carry spirits through security or customs risks confiscation and prosecution.
