Completely prohibited. Zero tolerance under Islamic law.
Full details
Saudi Arabia strictly prohibits the importation, possession, and consumption of alcohol under Islamic law and the relevant Saudi regulations. There are no duty-free alcohol allowances for any traveller entering Saudi Arabia — including non-Muslims and non-citizens. Alcohol found in luggage at Saudi airports will be confiscated. Penalties include fines, imprisonment (often 30–60 days for foreigners), and deportation. Diplomatic and international compound areas have historically had informal access, but this does not constitute legal importation. The prohibition is enforced by customs and the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.

This page covers destination customs rules in Saudi Arabia. Whether you can carry alcohol / spirits through security, in carry-on, or in checked baggage depends on airline and screening rules — see air travel rules.
Alcohol / Spirits is classified under Class 3 — Flammable liquids. Cabin and checked-baggage rules apply on top of any destination regulation.
Saudi Arabia is named by GCC historical Israel boycott (largely relaxed 2020-2023). Commercial and high-value movements may require a licence or blocking-regulation check. Personal travelers should verify whether the specific item or payment method is caught.
