Travelers aged 20+ may bring 1 litre of alcohol — wine, spirits, or beer — duty-free into Thailand. Quantities above attract Thailand Excise Department duty (about 60% of CIF value plus THB 1,000-2,000 per litre for spirits) plus 7% VAT. The Red Channel at Suvarnabhumi / Don Mueang / Phuket / Chiang Mai handles declarations; Customs holds the right to demand purchase receipts. Commercial-quantity imports require a Liquor Tax Licence.
