Pepper Spray is prohibited for travelers entering Morocco. Administration des Douanes et Impôts Indirects (ADII) screens baggage at all ports of entry; the item is seized regardless of quantity, and depending on item class (narcotic / weapon / counterfeit / cultural-heritage), the traveler may face administrative or criminal penalty under the destination's controlled-substances / customs act. AfCFTA tariff-elimination phasing in. ECOWAS / EAC / COMESA / CEMAC sub-regional rules add a layer. Personal-import permit pathways exist for medication categories (see Administration des Douanes et Impôts Indirects (ADII) guidance) but do not apply to most prohibited items.

Where civilian possession is lawful in Morocco, taking a personal defensive spray out of the country is not separately export-controlled, but two constraints bite: aviation rules forbid incapacitant sprays in cabin baggage universally and most airlines refuse them in checked baggage too (a single ≤100 ml self-defence spray in checked baggage is airline-discretionary under IATA provisions); and many destinations — including the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and much of Europe — treat pepper spray as a prohibited weapon at import, with arrest a realistic outcome. Verify both the airline's policy and the destination's weapons law before carrying.
Do not carry Pepper Spray into Morocco. If you arrive with the item by accident, surrender at the Red Channel for seizure-only treatment rather than walking the Green Channel — the latter is treated as deliberate smuggling.
