Pepper Spray is prohibited for travelers entering Denmark. Toldstyrelsen (Danish Customs Agency) screens baggage at all ports of entry; the item is seized regardless of quantity, and depending on item class (narcotic / weapon / counterfeit / cultural-heritage), the traveler may face administrative or criminal penalty under the destination's controlled-substances / customs act. EU customs harmonisation and EU Regulation 608/2013 IPR enforcement apply alongside national rules. Personal-import permit pathways exist for medication categories (see Toldstyrelsen (Danish Customs Agency) guidance) but do not apply to most prohibited items.

Where civilian possession is lawful in Denmark, taking a personal defensive spray out of the country is not separately export-controlled, but two constraints bite: aviation rules forbid incapacitant sprays in cabin baggage universally and most airlines refuse them in checked baggage too (a single ≤100 ml self-defence spray in checked baggage is airline-discretionary under IATA provisions); and many destinations — including the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and much of Europe — treat pepper spray as a prohibited weapon at import, with arrest a realistic outcome. Verify both the airline's policy and the destination's weapons law before carrying.
