France's Direction Generale de l'Aviation Civile (DGAC) regulates drones under EU Implementing Regulation 2019/947. Personal-use drones under 250g require no registration; 250g-25kg drones require operator registration with DGAC and a commercial / open-category certificate. Travelers may import personal-use drones without permit; lithium-battery limits per IATA Doc 9284 apply. Unauthorised flight near aerodromes / Defense areas: EUR 75,000 fine and up to 1 year imprisonment.
