Summary

Substances and articles presenting a hazard during transport not covered by other classes. Lithium-ion and lithium-metal batteries are the most common subcategory for passenger travel (UN3480 / UN3090 when shipped alone; UN3481 / UN3091 when packed with or contained in equipment).

Packing / quantity notes

Spare lithium batteries / power banks: carry-on ONLY. ≤ 100 Wh without approval; 100-160 Wh with airline approval (max 2 spares); > 160 Wh prohibited from passenger baggage. Installed-in-device batteries permitted in checked when device is fully powered-off.
