Vietnam requires declaration of Vietnamese Dong above VND 15 million and foreign currency above USD 5,000 equivalent. Gold above 300g must also be declared. State Bank of Vietnam regulations apply. Travelers should check current regulations before departure as rules change frequently. Carry all relevant documentation including prescriptions and purchase receipts. Declare items proactively at customs to avoid penalties.
