Full details

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Circular No. 1106 permits travelers to bring or take up to PHP 50,000 without declaration. Amounts above require BSP Form 1 prior-authorisation. Foreign currency equivalent over USD 10,000 must be declared on arrival and departure using the Customs Declaration Form. Non-declaration carries seizure of the amount plus a fine of up to PHP 500,000 and prison up to 14 years under R.A. 9160 (Anti-Money Laundering Act). The limit applies regardless of currency denomination — cheques and bearer instruments count.

ENFORCEMENT

ActiveCustoms actively enforces this rule.

QUANTITY CHECK

USD

Values at or above this threshold must be declared (PHP).

PRACTICAL ADVICE

Declare cash, traveler's cheques, or monetary instruments above the local threshold to Bureau of Customs on arrival or departure. Use the dedicated currency-declaration channel; undeclared amounts above the threshold are subject to seizure and an administrative fine of 25-50% of the undeclared sum.
