Full Details

Japan Post accepts international perfume parcels under the Universal Postal Union limited-quantity exemption: total alcohol-bearing fragrance content per parcel is capped at 500ml, with each item under 150ml. Air-mail parcels must declare 'perfume' on the customs label CN22/CN23; surface-mail parcels follow the same limits. Above-threshold parcels are returned to sender. Private courier (DHL, FedEx, UPS) accepts higher quantities under DG-trained shipper rules.

PRACTICAL ADVICE

Carry-on limit 100ml per container under standard liquid rule. Bulk shipments (over 500ml total per passenger) need IATA DG paperwork. Declare any commercial quantity at Japan Customs (Ministry of Finance).
