DEPARTURE RULE🇱🇦 LAOS

Taking vape / e-cigarette out of Laos

STATUS · PROHIBITED

E-cigarettes are banned in Laos, so there is no lawful personal export — devices found at departure are subject to confiscation.

Details

Laos prohibits the import, sale, and use of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products by national decision; possession risks confiscation. Because possession itself is unlawful, there is no personal-export pathway: travellers carrying vape devices through the airport risk confiscation and fines at security or customs screening, on departure as well as arrival. Travellers connecting through Laos should keep devices in checked or transit baggage and verify airline policy on lithium batteries (IATA DGR requires cabin carriage where devices are permitted at all).
