Personal-use laptops, tablets, and consumer electronics may be exported from France without advance authorisation at personal-use quantities. High-end computing equipment (workstations, servers, specific chips) may fall under dual-use export-controls (US EAR, EU Dual-Use Regulation, particularly for destinations subject to sanctions). Strong-encryption software and hardware similarly may face export licensing. Personal-use consumer laptops carrying general commercial encryption are unrestricted for personal export.
