Taking gold jewellery out of Algeria
Personal gold jewellery may be exported from Algeria for personal use; commercial quantities and gold bullion require declaration.
Details
Personal-wear gold jewellery is generally free to export from Algeria at reasonable personal-use quantities. High-value personal jewellery (typically above USD 10,000 equivalent) should be declared using the Bank of Algeria currency declaration. Gold bullion, bars, and coins face different treatment — may require advance export authorisation from the central bank for commercial quantities. Antique jewellery over cultural-property age thresholds may require an export permit.
