Australia requires dogs to undergo a minimum 10-day quarantine at the Mickleham Post Entry Quarantine Facility. Dogs must be imported from an approved country list, have a valid rabies vaccination, be microchipped, and pass blood tests. Import permits must be obtained months in advance.
Start the process 6-12 months before travel. Quarantine costs AUD 2,000+. Only approved breeds from approved countries accepted.
