Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) screens baggage at all ports of entry; the item is seized regardless of quantity, and depending on item class (narcotic / weapon / counterfeit / cultural-heritage), the traveler may face administrative or criminal penalty under the destination's controlled-substances / customs act. GCC Common Customs Law applies for GCC member states; national restrictions on alcohol / pork / political-religious content are strictly enforced. Personal-import permit pathways exist for medication categories (see Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) guidance) but do not apply to most prohibited items.

Travellers should not transit Iran carrying CBD products of any THC content.
