Beer for personal consumption is freely exportable from Japan. Destination-country customs rules govern the arrival side. Excise duty is remitted at export for commercial quantities; personal-use quantities do not trigger commercial-export documentation.
Per adult: 3 bottles of alcohol (about 760 ml each); 200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars, or 250 g of other tobacco, or 10 packages of heat-not-burn tobacco (a mix is capped at the equivalent of 250 g); 2 ounces of perfume. Other goods up to a total overseas market value of ¥200,000; any single item under ¥10,000 is free of duty and not counted toward the total. USD equivalent approximate.
