GOODS ACROSS BORDERS

REX

Also known as: Registered Exporter

An EU system that lets exporters self-certify origin for FTA preferential-tariff claims above EUR 6,000.

REX (Registered Exporter system) is an electronic registry that lets EU exporters self-certify the origin of goods under the EU's preferential trade agreements without a separate chamber-issued certificate. Required for export consignments above EUR 6,000 of FTA-preferential goods. Below EUR 6,000, an unregistered exporter can issue an origin declaration on the commercial invoice. REX registration is administered by the exporter's national customs authority and takes 2-4 weeks.
