DEPARTURE RULE🇲🇾 MALAYSIA

Taking walkie-talkies / two-way radios out of Malaysia

STATUS · ALLOWED

Consumer walkie-talkies may be exported from Malaysia freely; radio-licensing rules at the destination govern their use on arrival.

Details

Consumer PMR/FRS hand-held radios face no export formality from Malaysia at personal quantities. The practical constraint is destination-side spectrum law: permitted frequencies and power limits differ between regions, so a legally sold radio at origin may be unlicensed to operate at destination, and a few jurisdictions require import permits for any transmitting equipment. High-power or encrypted radio equipment can fall under dual-use export controls.
