DEPARTURE RULE🇲🇾 MALAYSIA

Taking insulin out of Malaysia

STATUS · ALLOWED

Insulin may be exported from Malaysia freely for personal use with prescription documentation; the practical constraints are cold-chain and needles.

Details

Insulin is not a controlled substance and personal-use quantities may be taken out of Malaysia without export formality. Carry the prescription or pharmacy label and a doctor's letter covering needles and injection devices — the letter is what security screening and destination customs ask for. Keep insulin in cabin baggage (hold temperatures can freeze it) with a cool pack; aviation liquid limits exempt medically necessary liquids. Quantities beyond a personal trip supply may draw questioning about resale.
