Details

Personal-wear gold jewellery is generally free to export from Switzerland at reasonable personal-use quantities. High-value personal jewellery (typically above USD 10,000 equivalent) should be declared using the declaration to the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (on request). Gold bullion, bars, and coins face different treatment — may require advance export authorisation from the central bank for commercial quantities. Antique jewellery over cultural-property age thresholds may require an export permit.
