Taking e-cigarette liquid (vape juice) out of India

STATUS · PROHIBITED

E-liquid cannot lawfully be taken out of India — vaping products are banned there.

Details

India's Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act 2019 (PECA) explicitly prohibits the production, import, EXPORT, transport, sale, and advertisement of e-cigarettes and e-liquid. Because the products are unlawful to possess for trade, and export is a specifically enumerated offence, there is no personal-export pathway; e-liquid found at departure screening is confiscated and fines or prosecution can follow. Travellers connecting through India should not carry vaping liquids.
