Surrender at customs

Nicotine products not approved for general sale may be surrendered at NZ Customs. Declare at the Border. Customs will confiscate; no fine for voluntary disclosure of personal-quantity vape items.

Practical advice

Carry the device in carry-on (never checked baggage — lithium battery rule). Quantities above the personal-use threshold for New Zealand must be declared to NZ Customs with proof of purchase; e-liquid containers obey the standard 100 ml carry-on liquid rule.
