Malaysia has not banned vaping but the regulatory framework is evolving. Vape devices are legal. Nicotine-containing e-liquids exist in a regulatory gray area — they are widely available but not officially approved by the Ministry of Health. Travelers can bring personal vaping devices.

Surrender at customs

Malaysia Customs (Kastam) accept voluntary surrender at port of entry. Submit written abandonment request. Receipt issued. Nicotine vaping products ≥20 mg/mL are restricted — surrender is standard officer practice.

Practical advice

Vaping is common in Malaysia. Bring personal devices and liquid without issue, but regulations are changing — check current status before travel.
