Personal-use carriage of up to a 1-month supply requires a Yakkan-Shoumei import certificate filed at least two weeks before arrival via the regional Bureau of Health and Welfare. Without the certificate, customs at Narita / Haneda / Kansai will seize the medication. Quantities over 1 month require formal Yakkan-Shoumei application with consulate authentication.
