Thailand allows 200 cigarettes or 250g tobacco duty-free. Thai customs actively enforces limits — excess cigarettes face fines of up to 10 times the duty owed. Thailand has some of the world's strictest tobacco marketing laws with graphic health warnings covering 85% of packaging. Enforcement in Thailand carries fines from THB 5,000 to THB 500,000 under Customs Act B.E. 2560 (2017) s.202, s.242 (ordinary personal cases are handled as civil infringements).
