Details

Taxidermied specimens of CITES-listed species require both export permits from the source country and import permits from the destination country. CITES Appendix I species (tigers, leopards, bears, etc.) are commercially prohibited. Appendix II species (lions, hippos, many raptors) require permits. Enforcement in Thailand carries fines from THB 5,000 to THB 500,000 under Customs Act B.E. 2560 (2017) s.202, s.242 (ordinary personal cases are handled as civil infringements).
