Taxidermied specimens of CITES-listed species require both export permits from the source country and import permits from the destination country. CITES Appendix I species (tigers, leopards, bears, etc.) are commercially prohibited. Appendix II species (lions, hippos, many raptors) require permits. Enforcement in Singapore carries fines from SGD 500 to SGD 10,000 under Customs Act 1960 s.128F, s.130 (ordinary personal cases are handled as civil infringements).
