Post-Brexit, the UK applies Products of Animal Origin (POAO) restrictions on meat from non-EU countries. Commercially processed meat from approved countries may be permitted in personal quantities (up to 2kg). Fresh meat from most non-EU countries is prohibited. EU meat currently has temporary easements. Enforcement in United Kingdom carries fines from GBP 250 to GBP 20,000 under Customs and Excise Management Act 1979 s.78, s.170 (ordinary personal cases are handled as civil infringements). Leaving United Kingdom with meat products is a separate question — restricted: Meat products for personal consumption may face export limits from United Kingdom for animal-health documentation reasons; commercial quantities require an Export Health Certificate.
