Firearms is prohibited for travelers entering Jamaica. Jamaica Customs Agency screens baggage at all ports of entry; the item is seized regardless of quantity, and depending on item class (narcotic / weapon / counterfeit / cultural-heritage), the traveler may face administrative or criminal penalty under the destination's controlled-substances / customs act. Pacific Alliance / Mercosur / CAFTA-DR / USMCA / Andean Community preferential treatment for member-state goods. Personal-import permit pathways exist for medication categories (see Jamaica Customs Agency guidance) but do not apply to most prohibited items.

Export of firearms from Jamaica requires advance authorisation issued before departure under the national firearms-control legislation.
