Details
UK CAA requires drone operators to register and obtain an operator ID and a flyer ID. Drones over 250g must be registered. Flying over people, near airports (5km), and above 120m is prohibited. A competency test is available online for recreational flyers. Enforcement in United Kingdom carries fines from GBP 250 to GBP 20,000 under Customs and Excise Management Act 1979 s.78, s.170 (ordinary personal cases are handled as civil infringements). Leaving United Kingdom with consumer drone is a separate question — restricted: Consumer drones may generally be exported from United Kingdom for personal use; higher-specification drones face dual-use controls and many destinations restrict drone import.
