Details

Commercially packaged chocolate (sealed retail bars, boxes, gift assortments) is allowed into New Zealand without declaration as a confectionary item. Chocolate containing meat, dairy fillings from non-approved countries, or unprocessed cocoa beans must be declared on the Passenger Arrival Card. MPI biosecurity officers may inspect; non-declaration of declarable items triggers a NZ$400 infringement.
