Thailand requires declaration of Thai baht exceeding THB 450,000 or foreign currency exceeding USD 20,000 equivalent. The Bank of Thailand enforces foreign exchange regulations. Travelers should retain exchange receipts for reconversion when departing. Enforcement in Thailand carries fines from THB 5,000 to THB 500,000 under Customs Act B.E. 2560 (2017) s.202, s.242 (ordinary personal cases are handled as civil infringements).
