Details
Egyptian travelers may import or export up to USD 10,000 (or foreign currency equivalent) without declaration; amounts above must be declared to Customs Authority on Form CA-1. Egyptian pound exports are restricted to EGP 5,000 per person per trip; non-residents may not export EGP at all without Central Bank of Egypt authorisation. Undeclared amounts are seized; Penalty under Anti-Money Laundering Law 80/2002 includes 1-year imprisonment and 100% confiscation.
