COUNTRY POSTING POLICY

Algérie Poste and Direction Générale des Douanes handle inbound parcels at Algiers (ALG). All commercial-value parcels attract customs duty (5-30% by HS chapter) plus 19% TVA. Prohibited mail: alcohol of any kind, pork derivatives, narcotics, counterfeit goods, materials offensive to Islamic values, Israeli-origin products. Currency control: foreign-currency cash in mail prohibited; declared-inbound foreign currency must be exported in person. Pharmaceutical mail orders require Ministry of Health permit.
