Chapter 09 covers significant trade volumes; specialty coffee and tea imports often qualify for FTA preferential treatment. Saffron is one of the most counterfeited Chapter 09 commodities — origin certification matters at customs valuation.
Frequent misclassification
Coffee extracts and roasted-and-decaffeinated coffee under heading 2101 (Chapter 21, miscellaneous edible preparations) not 0901. Tea bags are 0902.40 not 2101.
